All directions on border with Romania, Poland are unblocked - Ukraine's Border Guard Service
Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, says that there is currently no direction blocked from Romania and Poland on the border with Ukraine
He said this on Espreso TV.
"At present, all directions on the border with Romania, where the blocking took place, are unblocked, and traffic is moving. Yesterday, on January 19, the Krasnoilsk checkpoint was unblocked. Tonight, on January 20, the Porubne checkpoint was unblocked, and after 1:00 p.m., Dyakove was unblocked. In fact, there is not a single direction that is blocked from the territory of Romania on the border with Ukraine at the moment," said the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service.
According to him, all directions on the border with Poland are currently unblocked.
"On January 6, the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint was unblocked. Gradually, on January 16, the other three directions, Rava-Ruska, Krakivets and Yahodyn, were unblocked. At present, the queues of trucks waiting to cross the border to Ukraine have decreased, and cargo traffic is increasing. Over the past day alone, approximately 2,900 trucks crossed the border in these four directions, with the largest traffic at the Yahodyn-Dorogusk checkpoint, which is 1,200 trucks," said Andriy Demchenko.
Demchenko added that as of the morning of January20, there were about 850 trucks in queues at all four crossing points, but with the traffic volume we have had in recent days, the time drivers and their vehicles have been waiting in queues is not as long as it was during the blockade.
- On January 16, Polish truckers ended their protest on the border with Ukraine.
- On January 20, Romanian farmers and agrarians unblocked truck traffic at the Porubne-Siret and Halmeu-Dacove international road checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
