Ukraine to attract over $1 billion from World Bank, €150 million from EU
Ukraine will attract over $1 billion in concessional loans from the World Bank and €150 million from the European Union
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this.
He noted that over $1 billion in concessional loans from the World Bank have been accumulated thanks to the governments of Japan and the United Kingdom.
An additional €150 million from the European Union will be used to restore port infrastructure and rapid recovery projects.
"€65 million of these funds will be used to finance the free meals program for primary school students in 2025. This is a program initiated by the President of Ukraine, and it is already working. Now we are providing the necessary funds to keep it running next year," Shmyhal wrote.
He also noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the government has attracted over $100 billion in external financing. Ukraine received the most funds from the EU, the US, the IMF, Japan and Canada.
- The European Commission has agreed to allocate EUR 4.1 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program.
