Defense Minister Andris Sprūds announced this.
He noted that there are countries that have Patriot systems and vice versa.
"But it's not just about Patriot systems. They are, of course, very important, as our Ukrainian partners have also emphasized. But if we're talking about air defense, we're talking about a fairly wide range of different air defense systems," Sprūds explained.
The minister also emphasized that Latvia is ready to contribute to Ukraine's air defense.
"We are talking about a multi-level approach, so of course it will be short-range air defense," said the Latvian Defense Minister.
- On April 19, the Group of Seven countries announced their intention to strengthen Ukraine's air defense following a meeting in Cyprus. At the same time, the North Atlantic Alliance pledged to provide Ukraine with more air defense systems.
