AFU have initiative and are capable of achieving their goals - US General Clark
Today, Ukrainian servicemen have the initiative on the front line, and the United States sees the ability of the Armed Forces to fulfil their tasks
General Wesley Clark, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the United Armed Forces of NATO in Europe (1997-2000) made the statement at the Kyiv Security Forum on December 1.
"The war will end when Putin sees that it is risky for him to continue. But the war will also end when the Ukrainian military frees the entire territory of Ukraine, including Crimea," he said.
"The situation on the battlefield is critically important. We saw the brilliant defence of Kyiv, then the battles in Donbas, the excellent operation in the northeast (Kharkiv region) and in the Kherson region. And we understand that it is crucial to preserve the initiative and the ability to act, the emphasis on strikes, based on intelligence data. We in the US see that the initiative is with the Ukrainian army and it can achieve its goals," Wesley Clark said.
The retired US Army officer also praised the Ukrainians in the confrontation on the information front.
"It is necessary for as many people as possible to see the heroic spirit of Ukrainians who are fighting for the future system of global security. The more people know about it and see it with their own eyes, the greater the pressure on Putin will be," Wesley Clark emphasized.
"Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrate amazing results in defending their country, which was attacked by the Russian Federation. By fighting for your land, you are fighting for all of us," the general concluded.
