China's Foreign Affairs Ministry has urged the conflicting parties to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia after the mass shelling of Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China expressed concern about the massive strikes by the Russian army on critical infrastructure and civilian targets in Ukraine.
"We are concerned about the development of the situation and call on the parties to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.
In addition, the spokeswoman noted that Beijing is "ready to work with the international community to continue playing a constructive role in de-escalating the situation."
