5-year-old boy killed in Poland knife attack

While a group of preschoolers was on a walk with their teachers, an unknown man ran up to the children, started shouting that he was going to kill everyone, and then stabbed a 5-year-old boy. After the attack, the man fled the scene.

The child was taken to the hospital with an injury. As it became known, a little boy was stabbed in the chest. According to doctors, the child died during surgery.

No one else was injured in the attack.

Police later detained the attacker near the scene. The journalists identified him as a 71-year-old man named Zbysław, who lives near the kindergarten.

Police and prosecutors continue to work at the crime scene.

• On September 9, a similar incident occurred in Ukraine. A man with a knife also attacked children in the capital's Lisovyi masyv. He tore one of the boys' T-shirt and stabbed another. The attacker is wanted by the police.
