Blocking of three directions on border with Poland continues - Ukraine's Border Guard Service
As of January 15, about 1,200 trucks are expected to cross into Ukraine from Poland in the directions of Rava-Ruska, Krakovets and Yahodyn
Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, said this on Espreso TV.
"Three directions are still being blocked, namely Rava-Ruska, Krakovets and Yahodyn. As of the morning of January 15, according to information from our Polish colleagues, about 1,200 trucks are waiting to cross the border into Ukraine through these three crossing points. The longest queue this morning was at the Rava-Ruska crossing point. We continue to notice more or less intensive traffic in the direction of the Krakovets checkpoint, and the least - Yahodyn, although this direction has the highest capacity for trucks," commented the spokesman for the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.
According to him, the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint can handle about 1,200 to 1,400 trucks per day in both directions. However, at present, 100 to 150 trucks travel in this direction per day.
"The Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint has recently been unblocked, and there are still queues despite the fact that the traffic dynamics remains at the level of the indicators that were before the blocking of this direction. However, drivers and carriers are looking for directions and opportunities to cross the border, so there is a queue in front of Shehyne. As of this morning, there are about 950 trucks there," said Andriy Demchenko.
- Earlier, media reported that due to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border, trucks stand in lines for up to four days.
- On January 15, the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service reported that 1,742 trucks and dozens of cars were waiting to leave Ukraine.
