Military comments on statements about Ukrainian army's counteroffensive in 2025
Ukrainian serviceman Yevhen Iievliev calls for restraint in statements about the Ukrainian army's counteroffensive, recalling the liberation of the Kharkiv region
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
As for the statements about a counteroffensive in 2025, if Ukraine survives this year, Iievliev said: "I believe that this time there is no need to talk about it at all. In my opinion, it should go the same way as the liberation of the Kharkiv region once took place, when commanders (I know this now) received written or digital orders about their actions 20 minutes before these actions began. This is professionalism, and it gave its results, not like the president said not long ago that the plans for our counteroffensive were in the Kremlin the day after they were created."
The Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier in the Horlivka sector emphasized that the first thing to be considered is weapons for defense.
"I'll tell you, locally, what I see is that if we increase the number of artillery shells and complex weapons in general locally in our direction, we will be able to hold the defense line much better and not sit around and worry about losing some positions, even if something happens, we will recapture them. This will improve the quality of defense by 200%. As for offensive actions, it's hard for me to say anything about this, because the specification of the unit I serve in is not offensive," the soldier explained.

Politico tried to analyze Ukraine's military strategy in the short and long term. They concluded that this year, Ukraine will do everything possible to survive, build up its forces, and not lose many territories in order to launch a new counteroffensive in 2025 and defeat the Russian occupation forces.
