Romania launches NATO naval exercise Sea Shield 24
On April 8, NATO's multinational naval exercise Sea Shield 24 kicked off in Romania, with the opening ceremony taking place in the port of Costanza

The 9th edition of Sea Shield involves military personnel from Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, the United States, Moldova, and Romania.
It involves over 2,200 military personnel, 135 ships, aircraft and vehicles from 12 allied and partner countries.
"We need to work out operational procedures in the anti-submarine, surface and anti-aircraft environment, in the Black Sea, as well as in the river area of responsibility," said the Romanian Navy Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Mihai Panait.
NATO's multinational naval exercise Sea Shield 24 is aimed at training in all areas of warfare and increasing interoperability between participating forces.
- On April 8, 20 soldiers from the Bundeswehr headquarters traveled to Lithuania to reinforce NATO's eastern flank. They are to create conditions for further deployment of soldiers.
