Car carrying Russia's military officer blown up in Moscow
On the morning of July 24, a car exploded in a parking lot in Moscow. Russian media initially assumed the deputy head of the military communications center was in the vehicle, but it was later revealed to be his namesake
TASS reported the information.
In northern Moscow, a Toyota Land Cruiser exploded in a parking lot while a man and a woman were entering the vehicle.
According to the Russian Interior Ministry, the explosion was caused by the detonation of an explosive device installed in the car.
According to TASS, the explosion resulted in a man's feet being blown off and the woman sustaining shrapnel wounds. Five nearby parked cars were also damaged.
Instead, the Astra Telegram channel reports that 49-year-old Andrey Torgashov, deputy head of the transmitting radio center of the military satellite communications unit No. 33790, was in the car.
According to open data, military unit No. 33790 is the 89th satellite communications center of the Russian Armed Forces.
Torgashov's namesake was in the car
First, the Russian news outlet RIA Novosti reported that Andrey Torgashov and his wife denied that they had been injured in the explosion.
"It's a complete fake, this explosion has nothing to do with me," Torgashov said in a comment and added that he did not know who was injured in the explosion.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel Baza reports that at the time of the explosion, Torgashov's namesake was in the car. He is not related to military unit 33790, but he is also a member of the Russian army.
