US publication accuses Washington of starting Ukraine war
The US publication The American Conservative published an article accusing the United States of precipitating Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
The American Conservative article claims that the war in Ukraine is caused by Kyiv's "anti-terrorist campaign against Russian-speaking citizens."
Interestingly, the American publication also holds the USA accountable, suggesting that they did not take Putin's numerous protests against NATO expansion seriously.
According to the article, American propagandists talk about the United States using Ukrainian oligarchs as corrupt tools and mixing the interests of ethno-nationalist far-right groups in Kyiv and Lviv with its own national interests.
The purpose of this disinformation, as stated in the message, is to discredit the USA by shifting the blame for the war and to portray Russia as a non-aggressive nation.
