US plans to provide USD 60 billion aid package to Ukraine in fall – Volker
In September, the US plans to announce a USD 60 billion aid package for Ukraine for 2024
Kurt Volker, former US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine, announced the information during a briefing in Odesa, Ukrinform reports.
Volker announced plans to unveil a new assistance package for Ukraine, extending its support until 2024. The forthcoming aid package, valued at $60 billion, is currently under discussion and is expected to be launched in September. It is intended to be finalized prior to the US presidential election.
The former US State Department spokesman also added that the US has enough funds to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive, which is scheduled to begin in early summer and last until the fall.
As reported earlier, Volker said that the funds to be used to rebuild Ukraine should go to a specially created investment fund. He also believes that a special executive body should be created to regulate the process of Ukraine's recovery.
