Ukrainian Air Force tells about use of 'smart' JDAM bombs
Ukrainian combat aviation has been successfully using Western-style JDAM smart bombs in confronting the Russian occupation army
Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said this during a telethon on March 31.
“We use JDAM bombs. These are Western-style bombs that our aviation uses to successfully strike important targets. These bombs are slightly less powerful but extremely accurate. I would like to have more of these bombs for success at the front,” he said.
It is worth noting that JDAMs are sets of equipment based on GPS technology.

On March 7, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can already use high-precision JDAM-ER smart bombs with a range of up to 72 km. This was stated by the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, James Hecker. “We recently sent some precision munitions to Ukraine that have an extended range and hit a little further than an unguided free-fall bomb and have precision guidance,” Hecker said, confirming that he was referring to the precision JDAM-ER.
