As of August, 6,000 Ukrainian servicemen have already been trained in France as part of the AFU military training initiative
This was stated by French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu in an interview with Var Matin.
"In August, we achieved the annual goal of training 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers, distributed between France and Poland," he said.
He also noted that by the end of 2023, even more Ukrainian defenders will complete their training in France. According to him, some military personnel of the Armed Forces were trained in Poland with the support of Paris.
The minister drew attention to the fact that in order to carry out counteroffensive operations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine "needs a new generation of soldiers who have to be trained."
