Ukraine to receive USD 2 million from Google and 50,000 Workspace licenses
Tech giant Google provided Ukraine with a USD 2 million grant for facilitating education and digital literacy. Ukrainian authorities will also receive 50,000 Google Workspace licenses.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation, made the announcement.
Ukraine will receive $2 million from Google for digital education and 50,000 licenses of Google Workspace specialized cloud software for its government.
"Google services have already been integrated into the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Now other state institutions will be able to work faster, despite the shelling and constant threat of Russian cyberattacks. To facilitate this, 50,000 Google Workspace licenses have been provided for Ukrainian authorities to use for free for a year," the statement says.
The Deputy Prime Minister also informs on a USD 2 million grant. "We will direct the new $2 million grant to training Ukrainians in digital literacy, overcoming the digital gap, and improving the Diia. Digital Education platform."
Mykhailo Fedorov writes that the platform will be supplemented with an English-language interface. In particular, new skill-acquisition courses will become available. They will provide personalized learning trajectories with AI elements.
"This will allow many people to find the right job in the future and contribute to the economic recovery of the state."
