Russian attack on Ukraine's Donesk region kills 4, including children
Four people, including two children, were killed in Russian attacks on the Donetsk region on October 21. Five others were injured
This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, yesterday at around 9:00 p.m., Russian forces struck Novoukrainka, Pokrovsk district, with two UAVs, believed to be Shahed drones. A 14-year-old girl was critically injured, and a 29-year-old woman sustained a broken leg and severe burns.
Later, at 11:50 p.m., Russian troops dropped an aerial bomb on Yantarne village in the Kurakhove community. A 64-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were killed in the explosion, while a 68-year-old man was injured.
Pre-trial investigations are underway, led by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, under criminal proceedings for violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 2, Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code).
Earlier, Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional military administration, confirmed that Russian forces killed two people in Myrnohrad, and two more in Kurakhove and Novoukrainka. Additionally, five people were injured throughout the day.
"The total number of Russian victims in the Donetsk region doesn't include those from Mariupol and Volnovakha," Filashkin added.
- On the evening of October 21, Russian forces also launched drone attacks across Ukraine, including Sumy, where residential buildings were hit, resulting in casualties.
