This was reported by the European Parliament.
MEPs gave permission for Ukraine to receive a loan of up to €35 billion to be repaid with future proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated that the vote was sending a powerful signal that the proceeds from Russia's frozen assets would be used to support Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia, as an aggressor country, must pay and would indeed pay.
The relevant decision was supported in the first reading by 518 MEPs, 56 voted against, and 61 abstained.
- The UK government has announced a £2.26 billion loan to Ukraine to purchase the necessary military equipment.
