The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine reported.
The minister emphasized that ensuring the safety of Ukrainian ports, their workers, and ships is a top priority, as stable port operations are crucial for global food security.
"We are enhancing defense in every port and taking additional steps to boost security. We also need to protect the staff at the ports, including setting up mobile air raid shelters. Funds will be allocated to restore Odesa port's infrastructure, focusing on modernizing key facilities and improving overall security," Kuleba said.
Currently, 86 vessels are waiting to enter the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi, with nearly 2 million tons of cargo expected to be exported.
- On the night of October 6, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the Pivdennyi port in Ukraine’s Odesa region, damaging a civilian ship carrying grain for export.
