Man attacks Ukrainian woman with knife in Germany, 19-year-old Afghan man suspected
In the German city of Frankfurt, an unknown person attacked a refugee from Ukraine, leaving the woman with stab wounds. Police detained a 19-year-old Afghan man

According to police, the attacker saw a 41-year-old woman sitting on a bench on the banks of the Main. The man approached the woman from behind, grabbed her shoulder and stabbed her several times in the head and neck.
The Ukrainian woman managed to run a few meters away, but tripped and fell. While she was lying on the ground, the attacker stabbed her again.
People came running at the victim's screams, and the attacker fled. Witnesses provided first aid to the woman and called 911, paramedics arrived at the scene. The victim's condition is currently unknown.
The police detained the attacker in hot pursuit, who was hiding in the bushes nearby. He had a knife with him.
The attacker was reportedly 19-year-old Mohammad Zaman A., who had never been on the radar of law enforcement before. He was arrested, and the prosecutor's office is investigating the attempted murder.
