Ukraine launches serial production of 82-mm fragmentation mines in NATO state
Ukroboronprom State Concern has established serial production of improved 82-mm mortar rounds in one of the NATO member states. The number of mine fragments is 2-2.5 times higher than the standard
This is reported by the press service of Ukroboronprom.
"The mine improved by Ukroboronprom is several times better than the standard one. The number of deadly fragments recorded during the tests on the target shields and on the target site is 2-2.5 times more than a standard mine should have. The size and shape of the fragments are also better than standard ones," the statement said.
Serial production of improved mines has been established in one of the NATO member states. According to Ukroboronprom, the 82-mm artillery fragmentation mine is designed to hit enemy manpower from a mortar at a distance of up to 4,500 meters.
"Thus, according to the standard, during the blast of a standard mine, the number of fragments that should hit the target at a distance of 5 meters should reach 198 units, at a distance of 10 meters - 70 units, and at a distance of 15 meters - 41 units. In the ammunition, improved by specialists of Ukroboronprom enterprises, it reaches 460, 140 and 69 fragments, respectively," Ukroboronprom adds.
- On December 20, Ukroboronprom spokeswoman Natalia Sad said that Ukraine had launched the production of artillery shells. "To be able to supply shells to our artillery, we have launched mass production in Ukraine. Previously, we imported these shells from abroad, looking for them in the warehouses of our partners. However, the warehouses are exhausted, and the volumes that we increase every month are not enough. We have enlisted the support of allies and will increase the production of shells at foreign facilities, that is, abroad," said Sad.
