Truce on Russia's terms won't improve situation for Ukrainians - FM Annalena Baerbock

It became known that Baerbock said that she saw no hope of a suspension of hostilities in Russia's war against Ukraine for the holidays and no signs that Russia was going to back down.

She noted that she does not consider a ceasefire on the Kremlin's terms to be a solution, because it “would not stop the horrors for the Ukrainian people, but on the contrary.”

In particular, Baerbock emphasized that people in the occupied territories are in the worst situation.

“Every day they live in fear that they can be abducted, tortured and killed by the Russian occupying forces,” the head of the Foreign Ministry said, also recalling that international humanitarian aid does not reach that side of the frontline.

“This war was started by none other than Putin, and if Putin wants, the war can end even tomorrow,” the head of the German Foreign Ministry said.
