The United States will buy artillery ammunition for Ukraine from South Korea
South Korea will for the first time sell artillery shells to the United States, which will then be supplied to Ukrainian Armed Forces.
WSJ reports, citing US officials familiar with confidential agreement between Washington and Seoul.
This number of shells will be enough to provide Ukrainian Armed Forces artillery units for at least several weeks of intense fighting.
"U.S. officials familiar with the deal said that the U.S. will purchase 100,000 rounds of 155mm artillery ammunition that will be delivered to Ukraine," the report said.
Pushing the deal through the US allows South Korea to honor its public commitment not to provide Ukraine with lethal military support, while helping Washington, Seoul's main ally in containing North Korea.

Earlier it was reported that the USA will buy South Korean-made weapons for Ukraine, which will be delivered through Czech Republic.

Subsequently, Russian President Putin accused South Korea of supplying Ukraine with weapons and ammunition. However, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said Seoul has not provided Ukraine with any lethal weapons after Putin said such a decision would destroy their relationship.
