Statements about 100,000 killed Ukrainians play into Russian propaganda - Ihor Lapin
The AFU officer Ihor Lapin says that the information about 100,000 killed Ukrainian soldiers and 20,000 civilians is not reliable
He said this on Espreso TV.
“There are a number of disagreements regarding the figure named by Ursula von der Leyen. If the figure of 100,000 killed Ukrainian soldiers is true, then it turns out that we have more than 300,000 wounded. That is, in such a situation, we would have lost 100 brigades. If the Armed Forces lost more than 100 brigades, then how many do we have!? Since we are still successfully pushing the enemy out of our territory,” Lapin explained.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces officer emphasized that any statements about the number of casualties of the Ukrainian soldiers will play into Russian propaganda.
“The number of killed Ukrainian servicemen announced by Ursula von der Leyen does not correspond to reality and there is a great danger of such statements. After all, at first it was announced that 100,000 killed Ukrainian servicemen and 20,000 civilians. So, it turns out that the Russian Federation's thesis that they are only hitting military facilities will be broadcast again by Russian propaganda. On the other hand, 20,000 killed civilians are reported. Until February 24, more than 500,000 people lived in Mariupol alone. Then, if we sum up the atrocities committed by the Russians in Bucha, Mariupol, Kherson and other temporarily occupied territories, only 20,000 Ukrainians died? Therefore, it cannot be true,” he added.
