Russian troops seek to secure right bank of Oskil River, expand bridgehead in Kharkiv region
Russia's main goal today is advancing toward Kupyansk and further to Velykyi Burluk. Kupyansk regional military administration urges evacuation
The head of the Kupyansk District Administration, Andriy Kanashevych, told Espreso TV.
“The Russian troops are trying to gain a foothold on the right bank of the Oskil River and expand their foothold near Dvorichna and Zakhidne. The situation there is currently under control. But the Russian intention is clear, it is the city of Kupyansk,” he noted.
Settlements located in these areas, such as Kindrashivka and Monachynivka, are under constant intense shelling with MLRS and FPV drones. Kanashevych calls on people to evacuate.
“As of today, approximately 6,800 residents remain in five communities (Dvorichanska, Petropavlivska, Kupyanska, Kurylivska and Kindrashivska). Most of them are in the areas of constant shelling, so we urge them to evacuate. We are ready to provide everything they need. The regional military administration and the coordination and humanitarian center are involved in the process. All we need is people's decision to evacuate,” said the head of Kupyansk district administration.
In the Kindrashivska and Dvorichanska communities, people are leaving more actively. In areas where the shelling has been going on for a long time, such as on the left bank of the Oskil River, approximately 1,600 residents remain. They are not evacuating despite the shelling and the lack of gas, water and electricity.
