Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian Su-25 in Donetsk region

The press service of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported the information.

“There is one less Russian attack aircraft in the Toretsk sector thanks to our air defense soldiers,” the statement said.

It is reported that the aircraft was shot down using an Igla man-portable air-defense system on the outskirts of Toretsk by the combined air defense unit of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 57th Separate Battalion of Territorial Defense Forces.

Later, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter attempted to evacuate the pilot, but FPV drone operators prevented the mission.

 "As a result, the helicopter returned to base and now requires significant repairs. The pilot of the enemy Su-25 was left abandoned," the statement said.
