Resetting Polish-German relations would be an even greater achievement for Poland, the EU and Ukraine today

The Polish Law and Justice political party image suffered from the scandal regarding the German Patriot missile system.

Earlier, perhaps, not many people have been familiar with Poland’s internal politics, and those who were more informed on the topic, did not dive too deeply. However, many things have become more clear for the international community now, which does not play in favor of Poland’s ruling party.

Firstly, now it is more obvious how powerless Duda is when Kaczynski comes into the picture. Previously, this was mostly kept low-key. Now Kaczynski is called the real leader of Poland, which is not very good, given that Duda is the supreme commander.

Secondly, Law and Justice at certain moments tends to put party interests above security and European unity, which Kaczynski sometimes facilitates. The closer the autumn and the elections, the more this behavior will aggravate.

Thirdly, part of the Law and Justice electorate has anti-German tendencies, which makes some of Poland's foreign policy decisions too cynical and populist. For example, when Poland demanded 1.3 trillion in reparations or the deployment of Patriot systems in Ukraine.

“Undoubtedly, Poland, Law and Justice, Duda, Kaczynski, Blaszczak and other Polish officials have been and remain Ukraine’s close friends.”

However, Europe considers such German-Polish relations a threat to unity, which creates disadvantages for both the international community and Ukraine, but not for Putin.

Undoubtedly, Poland, Law and Justice, Duda, Kaczynski, Blaszczak and other Polish officials have been and remain Ukraine’s close friends. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done for Ukraine and will pass this respect and gratitude to the next generation of Ukrainians - our children and grandchildren.

But it is also undeniable that, despite all the sins of Germany, Warsaw's current attacks on Berlin are mostly unfair and unhelpful. It does not help even in domestic politics, because the majority of Poles positively perceived this German gesture.

The prudence and wisdom that Poland showed when the missile killed 2 of its citizens.

“A reset of Polish-German relations would be an even greater achievement for Poland, the EU and Ukraine today.”

Being farsighted and tough in its attitude towards Russia and its own defense capabilities.

All these are undoubtedly outstanding achievements of Law and Justice and the Polish people.

However, hardly anyone would disagree that a reset of Polish-German relations would be an even greater achievement for Poland, the EU and Ukraine today.

By the way, Blaszczak accepted the Patriot offer from Germany. And it could hardly have been otherwise, because to believe that NATO soldiers will now enter the war and shoot down Russian missiles in Ukraine is just very stupid.
