Russians trapped in Bakhmut: Ukrainian forces advance more than 1 km on city’s southern flank
Ukrainian Armed Forces advance on the flanks of Bakhmut and grind the enemy in the south – losses in the Russian army are five times higher
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Hanna Maliar on Telegram.
"In the Bakhmut sector, on the southern flank, there is an advance in several areas - more than a kilometre. On the northern flank, the fighting is unchanged.
In Bakhmut itself, the enemy is virtually trapped.
Ukrainian troops have made it as difficult as possible for the enemy to move and make it impossible for them to leave. Shelling continues on both sides.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are also continuing their offensive in the Melitopol and Berdyansk sectors. Hot battles are going on everywhere. Ukrainian troops are consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
In addition, Ukraine’s defenders are actually grinding down the enemy's equipment and weapons there, destroying weapons depots, and hitting places where the Russian military is concentrated, thus significantly reducing the enemy's offensive and defensive capabilities. Due to the enemy's significant losses in manpower in the south, some Russian units refuse to take part in hostilities.
The ratio of irrecoverable losses in the south is 1 to 5.3. That is, the enemy is losing 5.3 times as many soldiers in the south in comparison with Ukraine .
- In its evening report, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that about 20 combat engagements took place over the day, the enemy’s efforts are focused on five areas, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are striking at enemy control points, troop positions and artillery.
