Russian forces deliberately destroy grain fields in Donetsk region
In the Donetsk region, the Russian army is deliberately destroying Ukrainian wheat fields. On July 2 alone, it shelled wheat fields in the region twice
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region reports.
"The occupiers are deliberately destroying Ukrainian wheat fields to leave us without bread. Rescuers are doing everything possible to minimize the consequences of enemy shelling," the statement says.
The State Emergency Service noted that on July 2, the Russian army opened fire on a ripe wheat field near Nova Poltavka, Kramatorsk district. The shelling caused a fire, which destroyed 50 hectares of wheat on the root.
On the same day, the Russian army shelled a wheat field near Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk district. Rescuers extinguished the fire on an area of 9 hectares and prevented the fire from spreading to the entire field with a total area of 50 hectares.
"At the same time, the shelling caused a fire of wheat on the roots outside the village of Hrodivka, Pokrovsk district. Rescuers from Myrnohrad were working at the scene and quickly extinguished the fire over an area of 1.5 hectares," the rescuers added.
