Three killed, including child, by Russia's shelling of Kostyantynivka on April 9
On April 9, Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, was targeted by Russian shelling, resulting in the collapse of a house entrance and claiming three lives, including that of a child
The State Emergency Service press service provided this information.
Specifically, on April 10, the bodies of a woman and a child were recovered from the rubble.
"Yesterday, enemy aircraft targeted a two-story building in Kostyantynivka, partially destroying it. Rescuers extinguished the fire and retrieved the body of a deceased man, born in 1964. This morning, the bodies of a woman born in 1981 and a boy born in 2011 were recovered," stated rescuers, noting the completion of emergency rescue efforts.
On April 10, Pavlo Dyachenko, acting head of the communications department of Donetsk region police, informed Radio Svoboda that a woman and a child were being searched for beneath the rubble.
"Work is ongoing this morning. There is information suggesting a woman and a child may be trapped. Let's hope for the best. We hope to find them alive once the rubble is cleared. This is pending further examination," Dyachenko informed reporters.
He mentioned that the rescue operation had to be halted due to the risk of further attacks.
Dyachenko stressed that the Russian Federation intentionally strikes twice to impede rubble clearance and hinder potential rescues.
According to Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, the airstrike resulted in one civilian death and injuries to two women. Additionally, 27 private houses, 3 high-rise buildings, 2 infrastructure objects, and an administrative building sustained damage.
- On April 8, Chasiv Yar was targeted by Russian shelling, and a high-rise building in Selydove was hit.
