Russian forces use chemical weapons in Tavria sector - General Tarnavskyi
In the Tavria sector, the invading Russian forces launched five grenades with poisonous substances from unmanned aerial vehicles over the last day
Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, wrote about this on Telegram.
"While Russia made 61 assault attacks across the entire Tavria operational area over the last day, 43 combat engagements took place in the Marinka sector alone. I am grateful to our troops for their steadfastness in holding the defense line. In total, the Russians carried out 38 airstrikes (almost all of them in the Donetsk region), 97 kamikaze drone strikes, 1,102 attacks on our positions, including 5 grenades with a toxic substance dropped from UAVs," Tarnavskyi wrote.
Tarnavskyi noted that the aggressor's total losses in manpower over the past day amounted to 503 people, in weapons and military equipment - 25 units, not including UAVs. These include 9 armored combat vehicles, 8 artillery systems, 7 vehicles, and 1 unit of special equipment.
Also, 261 UAVs of various types were neutralized or shot down. In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 4 munitions depots and 2 other important enemy targets.
"Another half a dozen Russian soldiers were captured (in the Avdiivka sector)," the commander added.
- On February 22, 101 combat engagements took place at the front. The Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in 8 directions and destroyed 1,000 soldiers.
