Over the past day, 101 combat clashes took place in the frontline. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in 8 directions, eliminating 1,000 soldiers

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to February 23, 2024, amounted to:

  • artillery systems – 9,916 (+49)
  • MLRS – 999 (+2)
  • air defense systems – 682 (+2)

  • warships/boats – 25
  • submarines – 1

General Staff report: Russian forces try to breach Ukrainian defense 43 times in the Marinka direction, 101 combat clashes take place at the front

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the invading Russian troops made 5 attempts to attack near the town of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces attacked Ukrainian troops 14 times near Terny and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defense forces fought off 16 Russian troops' attacks near Andriivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Toretsk in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 10 Russian attacks near Orlivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops near Novomykhailivka and Pobieda, Donetsk region. The Russian forces tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses 43 times.

In the Novopavlivka area, Ukrainian troops repulsed 3 Russian attacks south of Zolota Nyva, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces rebuffed 5 Russian attacks west of Verbove and near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding their positions and repelling the Russian forces' attacks. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units from their positions. Over the past day, the Russian troops made 5 attempts to storm Ukrainian troops' positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

Russian army launches 3 missile strikes and 83 air strikes on Ukraine

Over the past day, 101 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian forces launched 3 missile strikes, 83 air strikes, and 152 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.

At night, the Russian troops attacked Ukraine using missiles and Shahed-type UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 23 attack UAVs.

15 settlements in the Donetsk region were hit by air strikes.

Over 125 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroy the Russian troops' logistics hub and 2 air defense systems

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 6 Russian personnel concentrations and 3 anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile units struck at 4 Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment concentrations, 1 logistics hub, 2 air defense facilities and 1 UAV ground control station.

  • On the evening of February 22, Russian forces launched attack UAVs and missiles from the Black Sea at southern Ukraine. As a result, a high-rise building was hit in Dnipro, and 3 people were killed in Odesa region.
