The head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region Volodymyr Tymoshko reported the information in an interview with Ukrinform.

He also noted that Russian troops would damage the genitals of the victims during torture, especially men.

"Most often, brutal beatings and electric shocks were used. Gas masks were frequently used, people were suffocated. In addition, there were cases of pulling out nails and extracting teeth with a file. The examinations of bodies that were seized in the de-occupied territories showed that there was torture associated with, let's say, harming the genitals. As a rule, in men," Tymoshko said.

The law enforcement officer said that people were taken to the torture chambers with their families, including minor children aged 14 to 16. Tymoshko stressed that they were also subjected to physical and moral pressure, the girls were threatened with rape.

"We have a testimony of a minor who was taken away from home with her parents. She said that she was constantly visited and each time they said: "You will have fun". The child was in the cell and understood that at any moment they could do anything to her," Tymoshko said.

Law enforcers have identified 22 places in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region, thanks to the testimonies of witnesses and victims, where the invaders arranged torture chambers.
