Political scientist and candidate of historical sciences Elina Slobodyanuk believes that the Russian population supports and is ready for repressive actions against certain categories of citizens

She expressed her opinion live on air of Espreso TV channel.

"Russians internally believe that it is necessary to move to repressions within the country. They are used to the fact that they exist in a repressive system. Russians already want to punish someone for their own troubles. Therefore, I am convinced that as soon as Putin's power weakens, Russia will have several categories of people who will be purposefully destroyed. In particular, Jews, because it is customary for Russians," Slobodianuk explained.

Historian is convinced that homosexuals can be one of the categories of citizens who may be subject to repressions in Russia.

"Gays may also be subject to repressions in Russia. It is not important for us, but Russia is one of the five countries where the HIV/AIDS epidemic is still "flourishing". Therefore, I am sure that only in Russia if the issue of AIDS arise, then Russians will blame gays for this," she added.
