Russian Ka-52 helicopters contain components made in West and Asia - Ukrainian official
Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has revealed that Russian Ka-52 helicopters contain components manufactured in Western and Asian countries. These foreign components include microcircuits, chips, and receivers
Yermak shared the information on Telegram.
"The two Russian Ka-52 helicopters downed today relied on foreign components for their operation. The military constantly says that the Russians are actively using them at the front to have air superiority and strike at the positions of the Defense Forces," he said.
According to Yermak, experts have found that Russian helicopters contain high-tech components sourced from the West and Asia, including chips, microprocessors, integrated circuits, receivers, flash memory, telecommunications transformers, transceivers, line stabilizers and microcircuits.
The head of the Office underlined Ukraine's efforts to investigate avenues through which Russia acquires these components. Furthermore, the McFaul-Yermak group has shared information with international partners, influencing the sanctions already enacted against Russia. A document outlining additional proposals for sanctions will be released shortly.
"Sanctions against Russia need to be strengthened. The Russian defense industry should not have access to technology. Shooting down Ka-52s is great. But it is much better to deprive Russia of the ability to produce it," he added.
