Russian forces will try to surround Avdiivka, intensify shelling of city - Defense Express
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi believes that Russian troops may intensify shelling of Avdiivka and try to surround the city
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"Russia's style of warfare is to do things that are irrationally unprofitable. They even tried to change things up and attack in the Avdiivka sector as they had planned to do until February 2022. That is, rapid breakthroughs by mechanized columns with the support of aviation and drones. However, their attempted combined attack failed. Obviously, yesterday they tried to attack in small groups, but they failed," explained Kyrychevskyi.
The expert emphasized that Russians are likely to try to surround Avdiivka.
"Yesterday's Russian offensive in the Avdiivka sector failed. Now, obviously, they will act as they are used to. That is, they will try to encircle Avdiivka, intensify shelling of the city and recruit personnel to Storm Z units to intensify assaults on our positions. In other words, they will be recruiting assault infantry, which they do not mind. That's why they keep the mechanism of private military companies. After all, they will try to sign up mobilized or contract soldiers for such meaty assaults as we saw yesterday near Avdiivka," he added.
