U.S. alone cannot provide Ukraine with everything needed to defeat Russia - diplomat

Diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi believes that neither Biden nor Trump can single-handedly provide Ukraine with everything necessary for Russia's ultimate defeat

He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.

"Just as much as Putin fears Ukraine as a NATO and EU member, Trump understands that this is a universal mechanism to put Moscow in its place. There is no other mechanism like it, and Washington understands this very well. However, there is a shared issue with both Biden and Trump: neither Biden during his term, nor Trump now, can single-handedly provide Ukraine with everything needed for the complete defeat of the Russian regime. This is the basis for these meaningless discussions because Russian authoritarianism can only be defeated - it cannot coexist with the rest of the world.

Unlike China, which, despite its regime, can coexist due to its dual nature - a communist core and free economic zones fueling its economy - Russian authoritarianism, heavily reliant on the world's raw materials, stifles its own development. Just as British kings once sat on woolen cushions, Russian authoritarianism rests on its oil and gas pipelines. This is clear," Bezsmertnyi explained.

The diplomat emphasized that Ukraine is the only chance to stop Russia's influence on the world today. The United States understands this, and despite Trump's statements, support for Ukraine and its Armed Forces will continue.

"The universal mechanism that allows the world to keep the bandit regime of rashism within certain limits is Ukraine. This is the only universal mechanism to achieve victory over rashism. Otherwise, this plague will engulf the world, as it has done before through the influence of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and so on. This is doctrinally recognized in the United States by all elites.

The current conjuncture is tied to the weaknesses within the U.S. Yes, they are increasing their potential, but clearly, the U.S. cannot independently counter this. Therefore, Trump will continue to make bold statements because that’s his style. However, in terms of NATO's integrity, interaction with the European Union, and aid to Ukraine, all of this will remain intact," he added.

  • On the evening of Wednesday, January 15, President of the United States Joe Biden delivered his farewell address to the nation from the Oval Office.
  • On Thursday, January 16, the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden declassified information about its support for Ukraine in the creation of the latest drones.
