Ukraine downs 43 Russian drones, 15 more fail to reach targets
On the night of Saturday, January 19, air defense forces destroyed 43 drones launched by Russian troops at Ukraine
Ukraine’s Air Force reported the information.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. on January 18, Russian forces launched 61 Shahed-type attack UAVs, along with various types of decoy drones, targeting Ukraine. The drones were launched from the directions of Millerovo, Bryansk, and Oryol in Russia.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
As of 9:00 a.m. on January 19, 43 attack drones were confirmed destroyed across the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.
Additionally, another 15 Russian decoy drones were neutralized in the area. As of the morning of January 19, military operations against Russian targets are ongoing.
