Russia launches aggressive information and psyops campaign against Ukrainian defense in Kherson – Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council
Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council has issued a public warning to Ukrainians that Russia has launched an aggressive information and psychological warfare campaign aimed at suppressing Ukrainian resistance in Kherson region
Details were shared by Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
Several telegram channels covering Russia’s war against Ukraine have started spreading the idea that "fewer and fewer people are coming to anti-Russian rallies” the in National Security and Defense Council noted.
The Center for Countering Disinformation warned that Russian propaganda distorted the reality, which is that people living in areas temporarily occupied by Russian forces are aggressively intimidated from organising or attending such events.
Russian forces in Kherson region are threatening physical violence for participating in rallies, shelling peaceful demonstrations in occupied cities, and abducting people who take part in pro-Ukrainian rallies.
"We stress that these operations are particularly dangerous in the context of the information blockade, which the enemy seeks to establish in those parts of southern Ukraine that it temporarily occupies," the Center for Countering Disinformation said.
