158 combat clashes recorded on frontlines, most intense in Pokrovsk direction with 54 attacks

On December 28, 158 combat clashes occurred along the frontlines. In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 54 attacks on the Defense Forces, while in the Kursk region, they fired over 400 artillery shells at Ukrainian positions

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 a.m. on December 29.

According to updated information, Russian forces launched a single missile strike yesterday, targeting Ukrainian units and settlements with six missiles. They also carried out over 4,600 attacks, including 150 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 2,181 'kamikaze' drones.

No airstrikes were conducted by Russian forces yesterday.

Over the past day, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two fuel and lubricant depots, two areas of personnel concentration, and one Russian UAV control point. Additionally, two other key targets were hit.

Frontline situation

In the past 24 hours, 158 combat clashes were recorded.

Kharkiv direction: Three clashes occurred near Vovchansk.

Kupyansk direction: Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks near Hlushkivka and Lozova.

Lyman direction: A total of 21 clashes were reported, with Russian forces focusing efforts in the areas of Hrekivka, Pershotravneve, Nadiya, Tverdokhlibove, Terny, Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Novoplatonivka, and Makiivka.

Kramatorsk direction: The Defense Forces repelled 14 Russian attempts to advance near Stupochky and Chasiv Yar.

Toretsk direction: Seven Russian assaults were stopped near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

The most intense fighting yesterday was in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 54 attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance near Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Uspenivka, Vovkove, Novoyelyzavetivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zelene, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Pershe Travnya, and Shevchenko.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces made 22 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Petropavlivka, Ukrayinka, Kurakhivka, and Dachne.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces launched 15 attacks near Kostiantynopolske, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, and Yantarne.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one attack.

Kursk region: Russian forces launched one missile strike with six missiles and fired over 400 artillery shells at Ukrainian positions and settlements. Nine combat clashes were recorded.

Siversk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions: Russian forces did not conduct active operations.

The operational situation along the Belarusian border remains largely unchanged.

On the borders with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian artillery from within their territory continues to target Ukrainian settlements.

  • On December 27, 162 combat clashes were reported at the front. Russian forces launched 52 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction and another 20 near Lyman.
