Russian troops push to seize Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi by New Year - Achilles Battalion

Yurii Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles UAV Battalion, told Kyiv24.

According to him, intense fighting is going on in Kupyansk, but Ukrainian defenders are holding the line.

"Russia is trying to complete the assigned task — to reach Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi by New Year, but so far, they have been unable to achieve this goal," the serviceman said.

He added that the Russians had hoped to advance quickly, but this has not happened. Meanwhile, the Defense Forces have successfully halted the invading Russian troops.  

Fedorenko also noted that in the direction of Kolesnykivka, the Russian army has been unable to make any progress on their positions for a month now.  

• On December 28, 158 combat clashes occurred along the frontlines. In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 54 attacks on the Defense Forces, while in the Kursk region, they fired over 400 artillery shells at Ukrainian positions.
