Russia wants to take break to regain strength: Kuleba comments on speculations in media regarding Russia’s ultimatums
No other country in the world wants peace in Ukraine as much as Ukraine itself, but agreeing to Russian ultimatums will give Russia pause to regain strength
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, announced this on his Facebook page.
Kuleba commented on media reports about the pressure on Ukraine regarding negotiations and how far Ukraine can go in liberating its territories.
In particular, he noted that the Ukrainian military will liberate land and people, and Russia must withdraw its occupying forces from the territory of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders.
Kuleba also emphasized that Ukraine does not give up diplomacy, and "the Kremlin's current statements about its alleged readiness for negotiations are just a smokescreen."
"Russia is playing constructive, but actually wants to take a break to recover from defeats and later continue the war with new strength. We will not go for that and call on our partners not to play along with Moscow," he said.
In addition, he said that Kyiv does not even theoretically consider any concessions on the issue of Crimea.
"Talks that Ukraine will tolerate or give in to any incitement are absurd. I generally advise everyone to leave this prehistoric perception of Ukraine as someone who is pressured and forced. Today, Ukraine is pressuring and forcing. We are creating a new history together with those in the world who stand side by side with us," he said.
Kuleba also added that it is impossible to win without faith and thanked everyone who believes in the victory of Ukraine.
"It is worth remembering one thing: it is impossible to win if you do not believe. I thank everyone who believes in the victory of Ukraine. You will not regret taking such a position. If we remain united and principled in these difficult times, we will also celebrate the restoration of peace and security in Europe. And the more support there is, the more weapons we get, the sooner that day will come," he said.
