Zelenskyy to speak in Bundestag, take part in conference on Ukraine's recovery – media
On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12, in Berlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely to deliver a speech in the Bundestag and participate in a conference on Ukraine’s recovery
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported the information.
According to the outlet, Zelenskyy arrives in Berlin on Tuesday and is also scheduled to deliver a speech in the Bundestag.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, the capital will host a conference on Ukraine's recovery, organized by the German Foreign Ministry, among others.
While this would not be Zelenskyy's first visit to Berlin since the start of the war, it would be the first time he would speak in person to the Bundestag. To do so, MPs would have to convene an extraordinary session.
The chairman of the German-Ukrainian parliamentary group, Robin Wagener, supported such a meeting in a letter to Bundestag President Bärbel Bas.
“The opportunity to speak in Germany's highest parliament would be an important sign of our solidarity and friendship with Ukraine and an expression of our respect for the country's achievements,” the letter reads.
There was no official confirmation of the visit.
