Zelenskyy open to initiatives from China, Brazil, South Africa - Ukraine's presidential office
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy would be ready to listen to the initiatives of China, Brazil and South Africa when the peace formula is completed
He said this in an interview with Corriere Della Sera.
Yermak was asked whether it was possible to hope for a peace conference with the Russians by the end of the year, given the unchanged position of Russian dictator Putin, who said that Ukraine should accept the situation.
He noted that in early November, Ukraine should finalise the peace formula, and then Zelenskyy will be ready to consider the initiatives of countries that have partnerships with Russia to integrate them.
"At the first international summit in Switzerland in mid-June, 96 countries joined us in relaunching the principle of recognising international borders against land grabbing by force. In early November, we will finalise our formula for peace, and Zelenskyy said that he would then be ready to listen to other initiatives, such as those of China, Brazil, South Africa, etc., to integrate them into ours. Then our proposal will have significant support," Yermak said.
The head of the presidential office stressed that it is impossible to build a peace proposal while allowing oneself to be influenced by those who wanted this war.
"We will be ready to hold an international conference when we feel the strength and support of the Global South for negotiations with Russia," Yermak added.
He also commented on the possibility of postponing the second peace conference to next year: "We don't know, we will do it when the conditions are right, hopefully as soon as possible."
