Ukrainian politicians who dare to negotiate with Russia will face political death — NGU reserve major Hetman
Major of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Oleksiy Hetman, noted that the partners are interested in Ukraine winning the war
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"During any war between the countries at war, negotiations are ongoing. They are unofficial, but they still take place. We should not pretend that we do not understand this. I'm not saying that we have official negotiations with Russia, but there are some contacts for sure. Diplomacy is needed to develop decisions that will be adopted later. For the negotiation process to begin, there must be preparatory actions. That is what is happening now. I am sure that negotiations are underway not only between Ukrainian and Russian representatives. Negotiations are ongoing between American and Russian, American and Chinese representatives," Hetman said.
According to the military expert, the whole world is interested in ensuring that this war does not last long.
"Our partners are interested in us winning this war. The Russians have long ago put forward their conditions for our country: that we should not be a NATO member. And most importantly, they say that the territories that already belong to them should remain with Russia. It's hard to say which of our political leaders will agree to such conditions. Because it will be a political death for those people who dare to do so," Hetman emphasized.
- Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, said that the only way out of the war between Russia and Ukraine is the complete withdrawal of Russian occupying troops from Ukraine’s sovereign territory.
- Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that his country considers it expedient to continue military aggression against Ukraine.
