Ukraine needs deeply echeloned air defense system - Ukrainian Air Force
The situation with Ukrainian air defense is extremely complicated, as both air defense stations and missiles are in short supply
Illia Yevlash, a Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesman, said this on the United News telethon.
"The situation is extremely difficult, as both air defense stations and missiles are in short supply. The enemy is intensively trying to attack with different types of weapons and using combined attacks. In order to cover all our facilities, we need a lot of such air defense stations and a lot of missiles for them, which, unfortunately, we cannot use yet," he said.
Yevlash explained that the proximity of cities such as Chernihiv or Kharkiv to the border with Russia makes it difficult to repel missile attacks, as Russia tries to conceal missile strikes, and after a missile is launched, there are only minutes to repel the attack.
"Of course, we need different types of systems, a deeply echeloned air defense system that will include various systems of short, medium and long range that can cover themselves and our cities, detect threats and deal with them effectively at every stage," the spokesman emphasized.
