Ukrainian military group tells about Russia’s goal in Pokrovsk direction

Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia  operational and strategic group of troops, said this during the United News telethon.

"The enemy keeps attacking in the Pokrovsk sector. Russia's goal, and everyone can see it, is to reach the Kostyantynivka road. To seize the road, which is important for logistics routes and everything else," he said.

Voloshyn added that the Russian army probably has plans to develop its offensive in the direction of Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad-Selidove.

The military spokesman also stressed that Russia's goal has not changed - it is seeking to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

• On June 24, Defence Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets said that the Pokrovsk direction remains the highest priority for Russian troops today.
