Russia's crimes against ecology: Russian troops cause UAH 1.9 billion in damage to Siverskyi Donets River
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has been causing environmental damage to the Siverskyi Donets River in the Luhansk region
Luhansk Regional Military Administration head Artem Lysohor reported the information.
Ukraine's State Environmental Inspectorate in the Luhansk region estimates that the damage amounts to UAH 1.9 billion.
"The aggressor destroyed bridge crossings over the Siverskyi Donets River, and parts of them fell into its channel. In total, 15,450 tons of wreckage from bridges and other crossings got into the water bodies of the Luhansk region," the statement said.
According to the State Ecological Inspectorate, the damage to water bodies in the Luhansk region since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has amounted to about UAH 4.2 billion.

On June 14, the bridge over the Siverskyi Donets River in the Kharkiv region reopened. It was blown up in February 2022 during the Russian offensive.
