Russia is not currently conducting active assaults in the Siversky sector due to the terrain. Russian forces have made several attempts to attack, but have been repelled

Anastasia Bobovnikova, a spokesperson for the Luhansk operational and tactical military grouping, told Novosti Donbassa.

‘The reason they are not conducting active assaults is that they received a significant rebuff before. They tried several times to attack with equipment, and all of these assaults were unsuccessful. At the same time, there was a lot of destroyed equipment, including tanks,’ she said.

According to her, despite the relative calm, the occupying Russian forces continue to accumulate equipment.

‘They put additional protection on armor it and install electronic warfare devices... Now they are obviously preparing for something. It is difficult to say what they are preparing for,’ noted the spokesperson of the Luhansk military grouping.

From time to time, Russian occupants try to make assaults on foot, but since there is an open field between their positions and the Ukrainian ones, our FPV drones see them and neutralize them.

‘The vehicles bring them as close as possible to the frontline positions. And then they cross the ‘gray zone’ on foot and try to storm our positions. What is the peculiarity of the Siversky direction? There are not many settlements in this area. There is an open field between our positions and the enemy's positions. It's a completely open area that is very difficult to drive through, cross, or even run through, because you are visible. And since they are constantly attacking, it is very difficult for them to even reach our positions, because our FPVs immediately see them and hit them, and artillery is also activated. And it is almost impossible to cross this field,’ explained Bobovnikova.

She noted that the Russian troops are using a lot of guided aerial bombs in the Siversky sector.

‘They use artillery and aircraft a lot. However, the weather has worsened now. And this may be the reason the number of air strikes has decreased,’ the spokesperson summed up.

  • According to the General Staff, the Russian army lost 1,670 soldiers, 7 tanks and 29 UAVs in Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
