Russia attempts to track F-16s at Ukrainian airports, aviation expert says
Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, deputy director general of a company that produces electronic warfare equipment, aviation expert, noted that Russian forces are trying to simulate a strike system to check the presence of F-16 aircraft in Ukraine
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"In June, the enemy carried out 6 massive combined strikes on Ukrainian airfields. Earlier this week, the Netherlands released a letter stating that they are authorizing the transfer of 24 F-16 fighter jets. Therefore, Russia is now actively trying to change approaches to check whether these aircraft are operating in Ukrainian airspace," Khrapchynskyi explained.
The aviation expert noted that after the first official reports about Ukraine's possible receipt of F-16s, the Russian forces launched two Kh-101 missiles from the Caspian Sea.
"The Russians are trying to understand whether Ukraine has F-16 aircraft. In other words, the enemy is trying to model a system of strikes and test Ukraine's reaction to these strikes," Khrapchynskyi added.
- The first 50 Ukrainian specialists to service F-16s have already completed their training in Denmark. Most of them have already returned to Ukraine.
- On July 2, it was reported that 24 Dutch F-16 fighters would soon be delivered to Ukraine. The relevant permit has already been issued.
