"Putin is interested in negotiations, Biden in escalation": foreign fakes for June 21
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations launched by the world media on June 21
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the National Security and Defence Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, two manipulations appeared in the world on June 21.
Manipulation: The American Conservative wrote: "Although Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has indicated an interest in negotiation, the Biden administration has escalated the fighting, most recently by permitting the use of American weapons to strike targets within Russia."
Rebuttal: With this manipulation, the author of the article tries to portray Putin as a 'messenger of peace' and the United States as a 'war-monger'. In fact, Russia is not interested in fair negotiations and ending the war, and any statements Putin makes about peace are aimed at getting a pause to build up offensive capabilities in Ukraine.
Manipulation: German-Finnish blogger Kim Dotcom wrote on his X page: "The next escalation will be North Korea vs South Korea. South Korea has provided hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine to kill Russians. Another battlefront for a weakened US Govt that is out of ammo and out of money. The US proxy war in Ukraine keeps backfiring."
Rebuttal: In fact, Ukraine uses Western weapons to defend its territory and to hit Russian military targets, not to kill Russians, as the blogger notes. Instead, Russia, receiving weapons from its Korean and Iranian partners, uses them to terrorise Ukrainian civilians and destroy civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
- Russian propagandists are also spreading new fake that France is allegedly discussing the use of nuclear weapons against the Russian army in Ukraine.
